Release Radar: What’s New in the Modular Solutions Platform January 2026

Posted in: News

Welcome to our monthly roundup of platform updates at Modular Solutions! With a fast-paced three-week development cycle, we’re constantly innovating to meet the needs of our clients and the insurance industry.

Our completed enhancements are pushed to the platform in a way that ensures minimum disruption while maximizing the immediate value to users. Every new release is accompanied by updated documentation and training videos, helping our users stay informed and empowered.

Here’s what’s new for January 2026:

Admin Module

  • There is a new email event and email template for Reversals. If you are currently emailing brokerages or insureds with policy documentation, please reach out to support for help with configuration of this new email template.

Finance Module

  • You can now reconcile premium finance funding from any supported loan provider.  Simply select your loan provider, import their disbursement statement in the standard format, and the Modular Solutions platform will auto-match funding to open A/Rs for quick and accurate reconciliation.

Policy Module

  • A new optional phone number substitution field has been added to email templates. This field is available across all email templates and is sourced from underwriting data, allowing a phone number to be included when needed in email communications.
  • See below for more updates that apply to both the Policy and Gateway Modules.

Product Module

  • Fees are now displayed on the Application for Insurance, with premium, fee, and total cost rows added. This ensures fee information is included consistently when generating the application.
  • Condition-level referral timing is now supported, allowing each condition to specify whether a referral is created at Quote or Issue. You can configure this using a new ReferralStage field (defaulting to Issue) managed on the Condition Definition. It applies consistently across all rule types.

Gateway Module & Policy Module

  • Operators and associates can now be converted into Named Insureds, ensuring they are correctly linked and merged using the same party and instance records. This enables a seamless transition when an existing operator needs to become a primary or named insured without data inconsistencies.
  • Quoted and referred versions now open directly on the Quote Summary page, making the copy action immediately accessible. The copy button label is also configurable through the UI definition to better match your user experience.
  • Referral acceptance has been simplified, allowing referrals to be accepted before all required information is completed so users can proceed and finish remaining details. If new referral conditions are triggered, referrals must be accepted again before issuing.
  • Manual referrals are now stored and processed as standard referral conditions, ensuring consistent behavior with system-generated referrals across the policy lifecycle. This removes the legacy implementation and aligns manual referrals with existing condition handling.
  • Referral handling has been enhanced to run consistently across the policy lifecycle, including when advancing a quote from an In Progress state. Referral conditions now evaluate against the appropriate lifecycle stage to ensure the correct rules are applied at the right time.
  • Cancellation options can now be configured per product and per module, allowing you to show Prorate only, Short Rate only, or both independently for Gateway and Policy Modules. The cancellation dropdown is populated from this product configuration at the time of cancellation, with existing products defaulting to both options for backward compatibility.
  • Cancellation has been simplified by separating cancellation type from registered letter handling. Users now select Prorate or Short Rate first, then independently choose whether to generate a registered letter, with automated letter generation supported for both options.

If you would like to implement any of these new functionalities, please submit a support change request.
