Release Radar: What’s New in the Modular Solutions Platform October 2025

Posted in: News

Welcome to our monthly roundup of product innovations at Modular Solutions! With a fast-paced three-week development cycle, we’re constantly evolving to meet the needs of our clients and the insurance industry. Every completed feature or enhancement is pushed live as soon as it’s ready, often through incremental updates that ensure minimal disruption and maximum value.

We believe that great software is only as good as its usability. That’s why every new release is accompanied by updated documentation and training videos, helping your teams stay informed and empowered.

Our roadmap is shaped by the people who use our platform every day: our clients. Your feedback and ideas play a vital role in guiding what we build next, and we’re excited to share how your input is driving innovation.

Let’s dive into what’s new for September and October:

  • Added a new feature to synchronize renewals issued in advance with the current policy term. Provided a renewal is not yet in force, a current term policy change will result in the following:
    • If an automated renewal has been issued, the renewal will be reversed and re-renewed.
    • If the renewal was manually issued, an activity will be added noting the change could not be applied.
    • If the renewal is in progress, the work item will be closed and will re-renew in the renewal process.
    • If a current term cancellation is done, the renewal will be reversed and it will not re-renew.
    • If a current term reinstatement is done, the renewal will be created in the renewal process.
  • We updated the multifactor authentication (MFA) functionality to fix a bug when resetting MFA. We also added confirmations around MFAs and enabled users to reset their own MFA (if they have the required permissions).
  • Claims activities can now be added in the claims reporting screens; they are automatically attached to the claim.
  • Changes to claims also now appear in the Policy Changes section.
  • When deleting an attachment, there is now confirmation dialogue, to avoid accidentally removing an attachment.
  • A system-generated activity can be created when payment method and/or payor information is updated.
  • Added a confirmation message for payment method and payment term selection.
  • Improved reconciliation to include agency fee adjustments – you can now reconcile, partially reconcile, and void these transactions.
  • Merging duplicate parties now also merges their associated payees and payment methods; access to merging functionality requires specific permissions.
  • Updated the process for managing Gateway-initiated worklist items, reducing unnecessary steps while preserving referral workflows.
  • An underwriter can now accept or reset referral conditions so brokers can issue policies without unnecessary re-referrals.
  • Added the ability to download payment schedules in both Policy and Gateway Modules (direct-bill only for the latter).
  • Improved the search accuracy in the Gateway Module for policies transferred mid-term or at renewal.
  • Enhanced mid-term broker transfer handling, particularly to prevent cross-broker visibility after a transfer, ensuring compliance and data security.
  • Product design is more efficient with the ability to use generic reference data tables to be loaded via Excel and accessed by the rule engine during rule evaluation. This makes rule development more efficient.
  • You can now configure the “Continue” button that advanced a quote towards issuance.
  • Premium can now be hidden when a rule condition exists for a specific role or role group. In conjunction with the functionality for an underwriter to accept rule conditions, this allows for the premium to be hidden and then to be revealed, and a quote proposal generated, once the rule conditions have been accepted.
  • Introduced “Claims Loss by Risk Coverage” as an addition to the Claim Loss History report. This enhancement provides detailed insights into claim metrics.

As always, we’re committed to delivering meaningful improvements that make your day-to-day work easier, faster, and more intuitive. These updates are just one part of our ongoing journey to build smarter insurance software driven by client feedback and powered by agile development.

Stay tuned for more enhancements in the next release, and don’t hesitate to reach out with ideas or questions. We’re building this platform together, and we’re glad to have you with us.
