Release Radar: What’s New in the Modular Solutions Platform April 2026

Posted in: News

Welcome to our monthly roundup of platform updates at Modular Solutions! With a fast-paced three-week development cycle, we’re constantly innovating to bring next-level technology to our clients. (You can find the February and March 2026 Release Notes here.)

Here’s what’s been released in April 2026:

Admin Module

Self-Serve Password Changes

Self-serve password updates are here. Head to the logout menu in the top corner of your screen in any Module, select Change Password, and update your credentials in seconds — no support required.

New Email Templates for Additional Interests

You can now automatically send Proof of Insurance documents to each Additional Interest on a policy using a customizable email template. The system ensures each recipient receives only their own Proof of Insurance, sent directly to the email address associated with them on the policy — even when multiple Additional Interests are present.

Activity & Email for Dispute Payment Actions

For internally financed policies, payment disputes are now easier to track. When a client initiates a dispute, the payment schedule updates to show a “Disputed” status — giving you a clear, real-time view of where each payment stands. You can also trigger an email notification and log an activity
whenever a dispute occurs.

Claims Module

Claims Loss Payments – Risk Subtotal & Total Claim Summary

The Summary section has a new layout for the Payment Summary, Total Losses, and Total Expenses. The system now displays payments grouped by risk, with a subtotal shown for each risk and a total claim summary at the top, making it faster and easier to review and confirm that all payments are accurate before approving a claim.

Prevent Deletion of Related Items After Inventory

The Claims Module has been updated to protect the integrity of inventory, salvage, and financial audit records. Related Items that have entered inventory (specifically those that reach a Salvageable status) can no longer be deleted; they may only be edited or sold going forward. This safeguard remains in effect even if a related item’s status is subsequently updated from Salvageable to something else, ensuring that once an item has touched inventory it is permanently protected from accidental removal.

Configurable Automation of Related Party

You can now choose to have reinsurers automatically added as related parties when a claim is created, saving time and reducing manual setup. If automatic creation is turned off or fails, the claim still saves successfully, and you can still add related parties manually. No changes required on your end unless you’d like to turn this on.

Manual Trigger to Create Reinsurers from Claims UI

Reinsurers can now be created as Related Parties on demand directly from a claim. This allows users to add the reinsurers on individual claims as needed, or manually add them in the event that auto-creation failed.

Finance Module

A/R Reconciliation – Exports Have New Columns

Exports to Excel and PDF now include the new A/R reconciliation columns, including opening balance, payment amount, and credit applied. These updates apply across In Progress, Completed, and Deposited views.

Intelligence Module

A/R Statement Formatting

A new “Broker Summary” page has been introduced to the Broker Report to provide an aggregated, accounting or effective -date-driven view of brokerage financial transactions. Key enhancements:

  • Added a dedicated summary tab with hierarchical grouping by Brokerage , Broker Office and Broker Code
  • Displays aggregated metrics including Transaction Gross Premium, Brokerage Commission, Total Admin Fee, and Payment Due
  • Supports dynamic filtering by Accounting Date / Effective Date, Billing Type, Line of Business, Product Type, Policy Number, and Transaction Type.

This enhancement provides a reliable source for reconciliation and validation against broker statements.

Policy Module

Implement Inception Date/Discounts

The Quote Summary now displays the policy’s inception date above the full-term premium and shows all applied discounts and their percentages so underwriters and advisors can easily verify premium impacts. If you have an internal product designer, please reference the guide for more information.

Gateway Module & Policy Module

Generate Proof of Insurance for Each Additional Interest

Proof of Insurance documents are now generated separately for each additional interest party — each recipient receives only their own document, and each file is clearly labelled with the party’s name for easy identification in attachments.

Search Risk Locations

Users can now search for venues and points of interest by name (such as a community hall or arena) when identifying a risk location, making it easier to find and confirm the right address. A new Place field has also been added to manual risk address entry, and basic postal code validation now helps ensure the address you enter is accurate.

Update to Underwriting Details Screen

The underwriting details screen now includes the Alternate Policy Number and Inception Date, giving underwriters quicker access to key policy information without having to look elsewhere.

Gateway Module, Policy Module, & Product Module

Additional Interest Email Field

Users can now capture and store an email address for additional interest parties, such as partners and venue owners, directly within a policy or quote. This makes it possible to automatically send insurance certificates to the right people without any manual follow-up. The email field is optional and can be turned on or off based on the product setup — no changes are required if it is not needed. Existing records and workflows are not affected.

Internally Financed Branded Payment Schedule with Premium Financing Agreement Combined

Internally financed payment schedules now display a polished, professional layout. It includes Named Insured, Brokerage details, policy number, coverage term, and total amount. This gives you a document you can share with customers with confidence. When a Premium Finance Agreement is part of the transaction, the payment schedule and Premium Finance Agreement are combined together as a single PDF, keeping everything in one
place. Standalone payment schedule downloads remain available as usual.

Product Module

Add Time Field to Dates

Questions can now be configured to capture a start time and end time, allowing time of day to be factored into your coverage rules and pricing.

Add Insured’s Preferred Language

You can now capture an insured’s preferred language directly on their profile, so documents and communications are automatically generated in the language they prefer. This option is available for both individual and business insureds and is populated based on the languages your organization has configured. If no preferred language is selected, the system will continue using your default language — no disruption to existing policies or workflows. No changes are required on your end unless you’d like to take advantage of this new option.

Registered Letter Request Referral

A new rule helper has been introduced to support referral logic specifically tied to a policyholder’s request for a Registered Letter during a policy cancellation. With this update, product designers can configure referrals that trigger only when a user explicitly indicates they want a Registered
Letter — regardless of the underlying cancellation type selected. If you have an internal product designer, please reference the guide for more information.

Disable Product & Risk Group UI Definitions

Product designers can now configure a Disabled flag, giving them the ability to lock down an entire product or risk group as read-only for end users. When set at the top level, the disabled state cascades across all questions, components (such as Additional Interests, Claims, and Parties), limits, deductibles, and coverage sections — overriding any granular settings below it. For more targeted control, designers can instead apply the Disabled
flag at the individual question or component level, allowing specific fields to be locked while the rest of the form remains editable.

New Product Configuration: Copy Settings from Previous

When adding a new Product Configuration in the Product Module, you now have the option to copy the settings from a previous configuration and then edit the fields that you want to change, rather than having to add all the settings as net new. This reduces the chance of errors in re-entering info and allows you to only edit the fields that you need to, rather than having to start from scratch each time.

Policy Module & Product Module

Granular Configuration Permissions for Limit & Deductibles

You now have more precise control over which limits and deductibles users can edit. Specific limit or deductible options on a risk/coverage pair can be set as read-only while keeping everything else fully interactive. Locked options remain visible with their configured values — they simply can’t be changed.

Some new features require a support change request. If you have an internal product designer, please reference the guide for more information on changes to products and documents. For any other questions, please reach out to our support team
